Probably only likely once we no longer require kernel patches for the
servers.  Maybe never.  AFAIU, we have tried in the past and met so much
residence that it was consuming too much developer time and impacting
our ongoing development.

Yup.  I am sure there is a lot of history on LKML that you could read up
on.
