> Hello all,
> due to a number of people asking me for Lustre projects to work on, I created a list of projects that do not currently have anyone working on them.
>
> I've created a wiki page off of the "Contribute" section, which contains other useful information about how to access Lustre via Git, procedures for developing patches, and how to contribute them to be included in Lustre:
>
> Under Finding A Project it lists how to find both projects and bugs to work on:
>
> The reason I've listed the individual pages is that there is useful information on each of them. The actual list of projects, sorted roughly in order of difficulty (though highly dependent upon the skill of the individual) is at: http://wiki.lustre.org/index.php/Lustre_Project_List
>
> The list has links to the bugzilla tracking bugs for each of the projects, and while some of them contain detailed information, others do not. In all cases, please discuss any projects you are interested in on the lustre-devel mailing list, to let others know you are working on this (to avoid duplication) and to get advice from the senior developers on how best to implement some of these features.
>
> Some projects that I think are of particular importance to the community at large are the cleanup and/or removal of the
> server-side kernel patches, and cleanup/reduction of the ldiskfs patches.

Could you also include wide stripe support (bug 4424) and SMP scaling (bug
19411) as well. It would be nice to have those in Lustre 2.1.
