If you use grub, you need modify “/boot/grub/grub.conf” and find “default=0”, update this!

主题: [Lustre-discuss] [Need Answer] how to update lilo.conf or grub.conf to boot your new kernel ?
Dear experts
I have a question about lustre installation.
I'm creating test systems on VMware of window XP(My labtop).
- installed CentOS 5.2 (Final) version.
- installed pre-patched kernel RPM.
I have a question from doc as follow.

http://wiki.lustre.org/index.php?title=Lustre_Howto
Using pre-patched kernel RPM with matching Lustre-utils RPM
1. Install the kernel RPM kernel-smp<ver>.rpm
2. Install the Lustre modules lustre-modules-<release-ver>.rpm
3. Install the utilities RPM lustre-<ver>.i386.rpm
4. Update lilo.conf or grub.conf to boot your new kernel
5. Reboot

At 4... Could you please give me advice How to update lilo.conf or grub.conf to boot new kernel ?
Thanks & Best regards
inkee
