Hello,

we are trying to cut out a broken (definitly dead) OST from the lustre system and want repalce the files on this OST from our tape archive.
Trying to overwrite a file results in "Input/output Error" no matter if the OST is marked active/inactive.

i.e. MDS:
lctl --device 17 conf_param scia-OST000c.osc.active=0/1
or
lctl set_param osc.scia-OST000c-osc.active=0/1

In the manual i cannot find a hint on how to manage this situation.
What is the proper way to overwrite/delete the entries so that the file can be replaced ?

Thanks and Regards
Heiko

lustre version on MDS and OST:
build: 1.6.6-19700101010000-PRISTINE-.usr.src.linux-2.6.22.19

lustre version on clients:
build: 1.6.5.1-19700101010000-PRISTINE-.usr.src.linux-2.6.22.19-2.6.22.19
