A bit more feedback.

The section on upgrading in the lustre 1.8 manual is very confusing for 
the novice. 13.2.5 talks about upgrading from 1.4 to 1.6, not 1.6 to 1.8.

Section 13.3 is a much clearer explanation of what to do on upgrade from 
1.8.0 to the next minor version - but tells you to unmount the clients 
first - even though 13.2.2 says this isn't necessary for an upgrade from 
1.6 to 1.8!!!
