[Lustre-discuss] Question about changing NIDs

I have read the very brief section on changing NIDs in the Lustre Manual.  

 

I have a quick question.  It speaks about using writeconf on all
filesystems.  I suspect this means on all MDT/OST filesystems?  I only ask
because the tunefs.lustre man page reports that writeconf should generally
only run on the MDT and not OSTs. 

 

Any other gems of advice when moving the MGS/MDT from one machine to another
would be appreciated.
