[Lustre-discuss] Replacing OSTs

Hi List!

As you may already know :) I'm now trying a lustre installation on a
mass storage prototype. I'll soon be receiving two servers which will be
my future mdt + mgs and mdt failover respectively, and I'm thinking of
reusing the hw I'm currently using for the prototype to act as OSTs
while my definite hw arrives.
I asked in #lustre and got two ideas:
a) build another lustre filesystem when the definite hardware arrives,
mount both on a client and copy the contents, which needs extra hw and
settings
b) when the new hw arrives, mirror the contents of the old disks in the
new ones.

Which one would you suggest? Do you have any other ideas? I'm still
dealing with the prototype, trying different configurations, but I'd
like to know what I'll need to deal with when I start configuring the
final version.

Thanks a lot for sharing your ideas,
