[Lustre-discuss] Problems with clean install

Hello-

Thanks for the tip Adreas.

I was able to get it to mount and share a lustre disk between two OSS's and everything seems to be working great. However, while setting up a couple of clients, I seem to be running at a 50% success rate (I've only tried two clients so....). Anyway, since the RHEL5/CentOS5 kernel (2.6.18-53.1.14.el5) is different then the one the patchless client was built for (2.6.18_164.11.1.el5), I have been installing the kernel and the other non-client-specific RPMs on each of the clients. Again, this seems to work and it relieves me from having to build another rpm based upon my kernel.

At least it worked for one of the two clients. The other client however doesn't seem to want to load the modules and I'm not sure why. Here is what I am seeing. This is the same as on the working client and seems to work great there so needless to say, I am perplexed.

Are the lustre modules loaded?
Check /etc/modprobe.conf and /proc/filesystems
Note 'alias lustre llite' should be removed from modprobe.conf
