Hi All,

Am having difficulties in selecting client packages and installing it. I am
upgrading to Lustre client 1.8.5 from 1.8.2. My OS is SuSe Enterprise Linux
11.0 and it is over VM. I am confused with the packages difference between
patched and unpatched vendor kernel. Please explain.

I am using the below packages for the upgrade. Since it is over a VM, I am
running VM-ware tools upgrade once I install the packages. And it is ending
up in the below error. Tried few possibilities but still the same. I feel
there is an issue in my selection of the packages. Kindly suggest.

Packages using for upgrade
-----------------------------------------
kernel-default-2.6.32.19-0.2_lustre.1.8.5.x86_64.rpm
kernel-default-base-2.6.32.19-0.2_lustre.1.8.5.x86_64.rpm
kernel-source-2.6.32.19-0.2_lustre.1.8.5.x86_64.rpm
lustre-client-1.8.5-2.6.32_19_0.2_lustre.1.8.5_default.x86_64.rpm
lustre-client-modules-1.8.5-2.6.32_19_0.2_lustre.1.8.5_default.x86_64.rpm

Error during VM-ware tools upgrade:
----------------------------------------------------
The path "/usr/src/linux/include" is a kernel header file directory, but it
does not contain the file "linux/version.h" as expected. This can happen if
the kernel has never been built, or if you have invoked the "make mrproper"
command in your kernel directory. In any case, you may want to rebuild your
kernel.

What is the location of the directory of C header files that match your
running
kernel? [/usr/src/linux/include]

Prasad
