[Lustre-discuss] Upgrade from 1.8.4-oracle to 1.8.8-whamcloud question

In my experience, even 1.8.6 client did not work with 1.8.7 servers
correctly. (file names appear corrupted.)
If you are going to upgrade servers, the servers have downtime. you can
upgrade clients meanwhile.
