[Lustre-discuss] Adding iSCSI SAN to Lustre

I may have an opportunity to repurpose an existing iSCSI SAN device. If I wanted to add it to an existing Lustre setup (or create a new one) – my understanding is that I would need a machine to act as the ‘communications link’ to Lustre from the SAN device. Something has to represent the OSS device – right? An iSCSI storage device would need a representative for this.. ?

Does that make any sense?
