[Lustre-discuss] Debian Client on Linux 3.12

There are a large number of patches to clean up the lustre code for newer kernels that is not in the 2.5 release.
You might try to use the upstream client in the 3.12 and later kernel. It is about half way between version 2.4 and 2.5, which should be fine as long as you don't need HSM support.

Hi!
Recently I need to compile lustre 2.5 client for Debian Jessie with kernel 3.12. But I got errors below:
/opt/lustre-release/lustre-2-5/debian/tmp/modules-deb/usr_src/modules/lustre/libcfs/include/libcfs/linux/linux-prim.h:101:

So I patched source by http://review.whamcloud.com/#/c/9300. But still failed.
I found the issue https://jira.hpdd.intel.com/browse/LU-4416 is still opened, is this means Lustre Client can not work with linux 3.12 yet?
Regards,
Ray
