Hi Rick,

Yes I used ibstat command and it gives below output on both the 
servers(1 server I am using for mgs/mdt and another for oss):
...
...
Port 1:
                 State: Active
                 Physical state: LinkUp
...
...

But I did not try ibping command earlier. After your mail I tried below 
commands:
on oss server:
ibconfig -S

on mgs/mdt server:
ibping -G Port_GUID_ of_oss_server

This is also working.
