[lustre-discuss] Lustre Test Install

I would start with the simplest setup with three servers

One MDS with an MDT/MGS
One OSS with one OST
One client

Next, expand to 2 OSTs on one OSS, and add a second OSS/OSTs server
Also add a few more clients.

Finally, on the server side, you'll have to learn configuring for redundancy.

Do some functionality testing at each step to make sure you've got a functional filesystem, get familiar with the tools, etc.

Subject: [lustre-discuss] Lustre Test Install

Hi All,

Very new to the lustre world.

I am trying to do a test install of lustre on Amazon Web Services Linux Instances.
Just for a test install what configuration of Linux servers should I chose and how many would I need?
Is there a quick checklist of all things needed for the install and a short how-to that I can follow.
I am going through the documentation, however, any help I can get on this would be great.

Regards,
Vivek
