Are you still running into this issue?  If so, try adding “—enable-server” and removing “—disable-client”.  I was building lustre 2.10.1 today, and I initially had both “—disable-client” and “—enable-server” in my configuration line.  When I did that, I got error messages like these:

make[3]: *** No rule to make target `fld.ko', needed by `all-am'.  Stop.

When I removed the “—disable-client” option, the error went away.
