Jongwoo,
Thanks for the reply. It turns out it was a bug..

It was specific to 2.7.

Thanks again.

Heath

Have you tried turning off journal then turning on, by doing this:

# tune2fs -O ^has_journal <mdt>
# e2fsck -fy <mdt>
# tune2fs -O has_journal <mdt>

Colin,
  Thanks for the reply. So we disabled journaling, but then lustre complains about the fact that journaling is not enabled and will not mount. Do we need to somehow tell lustre we aren’t using the journal? Thanks again.

Heath

Based on the extremely limited logging provided it appears that the journal is misbehaving. Quick fix is to disabling journaling. see if it can mount, then re-enable journaling.

Our MDS has starting giving us a kernel panic when mounting the MDT.

The last 2 entries before the Call Trace are:

LustreError: 6628:0: (osd_handler.c:1017:ost_trans_start()) ASSERTION( get_current()->journal_info == ((void *)0) )  failed:
LustreError: 6628:0: (osd_handler.c:1017:ost_trans_start()) LBUG

Can anyone direct me as to what would cause this?

Thanks in advance.

Heath
