This is not a log file, but rather a real-time display of the status, so if it is not being updated, then there are a few options that are possible:

- you are looking into the wrong stats file (e.g. different OST), as there are many different ones
- there is a bug in the code that prevents that the "write_bytes" from being updated.

What verson of Lustre are you running?
