Thanks that's good I will try. In the meantime I have found that
the 'lustre-client-dkms-2.16.1' "binary" RPM from the regular
repository works under EL8 kernel 4.18.0-553 and can be used as
it is with 'lustre-client-2.15.6'. I will also try rebuilding
the 2.16.1 client SRPM under EL8 (might need some minimal
adjustment of the dependencies).
