I would also highly recommend mpifileutils.  Not only is very high performing but it is also lustre aware, allowing you to copy all non-lustre extended attributes (e.g. those associated with FACL’s) but honor the striping/PFL settings on the new lustre file system.  If you use another tool, be very careful with copying extended attributes, especially if your PFL/stripe settings are different between the two filesystems.

I'd recommend mpifileutils and the parallel dsync if they are two separate file systems.

We want to copy the data from lustre with version  2.12.6 to the lustre with version 2.15.7. Which approach shall we use to copy/move the data.
