Subject: [Lustre-discuss] Identifier removed on Lustre 1.6.4.3

Hi all,

I have just set up a fresh Lustre FS, Version 1.6.4.3, with 52 OSTs,
all machines running Debian Etch 64bit.
Mounting and accessing the filesystem as root seems to work just fine.
However, as a normal user I get
> ls: /lustre/: Identifier removed
This seems to be independent from the user account chosen.
The logs are completely silent on this matter. On the client, I have some
> LustreError: 3695:0:(file.c:2517:ll_inode_revalidate_fini()) failure
-43 inode 90013697
but the time stamps of these errors are not correlated to the failures
of 'ls'.
In the logs on the MDS there is nothing.

In addition, this behavior is time dependent, in that I sometimes can do
the 'ls' command. Repeating it, it may fail again.
The commands 'stat' or 'cat' equally fail.

Of course I found bug 10902, but though I do not understand the details
in the Bugzilla discussion, the bug is supposed to be fixed since last
summer, aka Lustre 1.4.11 or 1.6.0

Any hints on this matter would be appreciated.

Regards,
Thomas
