在过去的十多年中，Lustre系统凭借其卓越的I/O性能，良好的系统可扩展性，以及始终秉持的软件开源，硬件中立，POSIX语义兼容等诸多特性，已
经成为高性能计算领域中应用最广泛的分布式文件系统。根据最新的Top 500的权威统计，截至2011年6月，全球Top
10超级计算机中有至少8个系统运行着Lustre，而Top
100超级计算机中则有大约70%的系统部署了Lustre。</font></span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18px;"><span style="font-family: 宋体;"><font

近些年来，随着国内高性能计算地飞速发展，越来越多的公司和科研机构加入到Lustre的用户群体中，Lustre系统在中国的普及应用已经成为一种不可
阻挡的行业趋势。在这个过程中，我们深切地感受到国内的Lustre用户和开发者需要一个共同交流的途径和平台。因此我们建
议定期举行“中国Lustre用户峰会”，讨论和交流Lustre相关事宜，同时成立“中国Lustre用户社区”，借此交
流Lustre系统使用经验，向Lustre系统开发和维护团队反应问题。<span
