I have followed <a href="https://doc.lustre.org/lustre_manual.xhtml#lustremaint.remove_ost" id="LPlnk271458">

https://doc.lustre.org/lustre_manual.xhtml#lustremaint.remove_ost</a> dozens of times to remove old OSTs but have always done so when the system is not mounted by clients.  I have another couple dozen OSTs ready to be removed.  Can I safely run the "mgs# lctl

 conf_param ost_name.osc.active=0" step while clients are mounted and the file system is active?</div>
