Hi,
Servers:
Lustre 2.15.8 + https://review.whamcloud.com/c/fs/lustre-release/+/63626
zfs 2.3.2
Single MDT and 24 OSTs.
Clients:
Lustre 2.15.8
Lately we have seen some dirs that will not list. I.e.:
[bad_dir]# ls
ls: reading directory '.': Value too large for defined data type
ls: reading directory '.': Value too large for defined data type
ls: reading directory '.': Value too large for defined data type
...
This loops forever. A 'find' just stops after the first error, while
'lfs find' sees it as an empty dir without any error.
If we list a know file in that dirĀ (ls bad_dir/know_file) it works as
expected.
MDS log spews out this, when listening the dir:
[Mon May 18 12:45:56 2026] Lustre:
9081:0:(mdd_object.c:3687:mdd_dir_page_build()) build page failed: -75!
[Mon May 18 12:45:56 2026] Lustre:
9081:0:(mdd_object.c:3687:mdd_dir_page_build()) Skipped 135 previous
similar messages
Have anyone else seen this?
Cheers,
Hans Henrik
