Right.  Because for 1.4->1.6 there were steps beyond simply installing
packages to upgrade.

As in you cannot even upgrade to bug fix releases?

Given that 1.8 has been out a few months now and IIRC we committed to
supporting 1.6 for a year after 1.8 was released, that could put you
beyond EOL for 1.6.

But if you really do mean you don't intend to even do bugfix upgrades,
maybe that's moot anyway.

Well, 1.6.7.2 has had a longer "soak time" and still not had any bugs
come up that are critical enough for us to consider another 1.6 release.
Maybe that speaks for itself.  I guess the call is ultimately yours to
make.
