It was 1.41.5 that was causing the problem (for uninitialized groups only,
so mostly only on new filesystems).

That said, the e2fsprogs is the version that was tested with 1.8.0, but
there shouldn't be any problem with using e2fsprogs 1.41.6 with 1.8.0.1.
