Have you actually configured lnet to use o2ib on all of your nodes?  See
the lustre manual for details on configuring lnet.

Typically after such an error, "dmesg" has useful information in it.
Alternatively, /var/log/messages (depending on how your syslog is
configured) probably has the same info.
