 The relevant section in the manual (15.1.3.1) I can't even get past the
first step, when I mount the mdt at /mnt/lustre/mdt I can't chdir to it:

# mount
...<snip>...
/dev/vg-localdisk/mdt on /mnt/lustre/mdt type lustre (rw,noauto,_netdev)
# cd /mnt/lustre/mdt/
-bash: cd: /mnt/lustre/mdt/: Not a directory
