[Lustre-discuss] mounting an ost on a different server

im using rocks 5.3 with lustre 1.8.2 
is it possible to mount an ost on a diferent file server so that i can take the file server down and work on it. 
if so what are the steps to do this. 
I searched the list and could not find any refrences to this
