That's all that we've tested.  I am sure you could understand the linear
explosion that comes with trying to test upgrades from many versions to
a single version.

I can't think of anything specific that should impede your upgrade.  I
don't think there was anything significant between 1.6.4.3 and the
latest 1.6 that would impact the success of an upgrade to 1.8.
