Hi Jason,

You need to set L_GETIDENTITY_TEST if you would like to have output on stdout.
(It would write the result to /proc/... otherwise)

Example:
 [root at n-mds1 ~]# L_GETIDENTITY_TEST=1 l_getidentity nero-MDT0000 3480
 uid=3480 gid=888,10,121,194,196,198,888,1000
