Hello,

I've been trying to create a small cluster of virtual machines to get some experience of working with Lustre. I have a dedicated mgs/mds/mdt node running a kernel from
2.6.32-279.2.1.el6_lustre.1.8.8_x1 Lustre official package. I have installed necessary Lustre rpms (lustre-ldiskfs, lustre-modules, lustre) corresponding that kernel, which along with the kernel were downloaded from 1.8.8 branch folder at downloads.lustre.org. Problem is, when I try to execute mkfs.lustre command from the manual (mkfs.lustre --mdt --mgs --fsname=SANDBOX /dev/sdb) having, as seen, only changed device name and fs name, it fails in the following manner:

[root at test-lustre-mds1 ~]# uname -a
Linux test-lustre-mds1 2.6.32-279.2.1.el6_lustre.1.8.8_x1 #1 SMP Wed Jul 24 04:06:27 EDT 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
[root at test-lustre-mds1 ~]# mkfs.lustre --mdt --mgs --fsname=SANDBOX /dev/sdb

What should I do to debug this issue?

Thanks,
Vsevolod
