The Lustre client version (at about 2.4.55 or so) isn't going to change until it gets out of the staging tree. When that happens isn't directly in our control.

One major caveat is that we are forced to change the /proc interface is so anyone using the upstream kernel will need to use the user tools with at least patch http://review.whamcloud.com/14675 (until it is fixed and landed).

There are several articles on the size of the kernel 4.2 update and it bringing lots of new/improved features.
I didn't see any mention of lustre features I assume because they interest the article writers less so I'd like to ask here: what if anything does kernel 4.2 bring us?
