[lustre-discuss] The difference between failnode and servicenode

Hello,

   I'm curious as to the difference between the --failnode and --servicenode options used by mkfs.lustre.  On an OST these options are used to for ost failover, not mgs failover (which is done through the --mgsnode parameter), but what is the difference between a failnode and a service node?
