Hi all,
We have a new server running rocky 10. The hardware supports IBT.
Today i pulled the current lustre source tag v2_17_59 and built RPMs. When loading lnet on the system, it panics with:
=========
Missing ENDBR: kallsyms_lookup_name+0x4/0xd0
kernel BUG at arch/x86/kernel/cet.c:102!
=========
Which led me to this redhat solution: https://access.redhat.com/solutions/7131503
It looks like LU-19514 works around kallsyms_lookup_name having been unexported from Kernel 5.7, but it looks like even this change must be leading to indirect symbol references because unless I disable IBT via kernel flags I still get the panic.
I didn't find much else about this issue. Maybe it hasn't been frequently observed because it requires both newer hardware and a relatively new kernel.
Is there a better workaround for this than disabling IBT or am I missing something that I should be aware of? Thanks!
